On November 22nd, we will be hosting our annual BUDS Fall Banquet. We’ve reserved the Agganis Arena Friends Lounge from 5-7 for a catered dinner followed by the Terriers men's hockey team taking on Northeastern at 7:00. Tickets to the hockey game are an additional $23 per ticket. All friends, family, and Alumni of the BUDS are welcome to join us. Use the following link to register and secure a spot at this event!
Terriers Together:
After this year's 72-hour Terrier Together Campaign, the Boston University Sailing team raised $21,587 from 167 sailors, friends, family, and alumni who donated. We had the highest number of unique donors and total funds raised out of all of BU Club sports (also beating out some of BU’s varsity athletic teams). Additionally, we earned $650 for winning donor challenges for a grand total of $21,951 for our team. We were blown away by the support we received in both donations and words of encouragement. These funds will help our team continue to train and perform at the highest level possible. We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who donated or encouraged our team during Terriers Together.

Weekend Review:
During our 5th Regatta Weekend, we sailed in three regattas, experiencing mixed wind conditions and our fair share of racing. At the Sister Ester Trophy hosted by Roger Williams, four races were completed in each division, ending with the BUDS placed 8th/18 overall after two days of light wind. Over at the Great Herring Pond Open, our two BUDS teams placed 6th and 10th out of thirteen boats. Finally, at Bowdoin, we also had two teams, finishing off the weekend in 8th and 10th out of sixteen boats after twelve races.
For Weekend 6, the BUDS raced in three events. At Harvard, the Lady BUDS competed in ACTs, completing fourteen races over two days with wind around 4-7 knots on Saturday and 9-16 knots on Sunday, finishing in 14/16 overall. Boston College hosted the Savin Hill Invite on Saturday. We placed in 12/14 boats after eight races. The Hurst Bowl, hosted by Dartmouth, had testing conditions, with unsuitable conditions on Saturday. Fortunately, on Sunday, there was enough wind to get off seven races in each division, with the BUDS finishing 12/14.
With Weekend Seven, the BUDS had all hands on deck at the Oberg. We sent two teams to the three-division regatta for a total of six pairs racing. All of the races were on Sunday when the wind filled, allowing for five races in each division. We ended the weekend in fourth and sixteenth overall and secured the first-place spot in C fleet!
Finishing off the fall season with weekend eight, the BUDS sailed in three different regattas on the Charles. On Saturday, BU hosted the Terrier Invite. After six races in light breezes, our two teams placed 7th and 8th out of eighteen. MIT hosted the shell trophy, completing fourteen races over the course of the weekend, with the BUDS ending up in 14th. Lastly, the Lady BUDS sailed out of Harvard for the urn trophy, placing 15th overall.

Post Season:
With the fall season wrapped up, we are left dreaming of spring for the next few months. In the meantime, the BUDS will be cross-training with team lifts and runs to keep moving throughout the off-season. Soon, we’ll be doing our annual community service at CBI, helping them pack up for the winter, as well as stowing our own FJs away.. Lastly, throughout the semester, we’ll be meeting regularly to watch films from this fall and prepare for team racing in the spring.
With Fall 2025 behind us, the BUDS are looking to what the future has in store. We are ready to bring our all for the spring, and hope you are all ready to come along for the ride.
RAH BUDS!
